Overview

Clarkson Alliance is a consultancy specialising in cost and project management services, supporting clients across the built environment. We partnered with them on a full transformation project, beginning with the creation of a new brand identity and carrying this through into the design and development of a new website. Having previously hosted their site, which relied on a page builder, the goal was to create a more flexible, high-performance platform that would better support their growth, improve SEO capabilities, and present the business in a more modern, structured way.

Branding

The new brand centres around a CA monogram, designed to feel both modern and meaningful. A key feature is the subtle reuse of the chevron from the previous identity, rotated 90 degrees to form the “A”. This not only creates a visual link to the past but also introduces symbolism, representing progress, upward movement, and even a roof form, connecting to the built environment sector.

The wider visual identity uses a balanced and structured approach, with sharp corners and a refined colour palette. Teal tones represent Cost Management, while red/burgundy tones are used for Project Management, creating clear visual distinction across services. A bold accent yellow, carried through from the previous brand, is used for calls to action, ensuring key interactions stand out while maintaining brand continuity.

Web Design

The website design brings the new identity to life through a clean, structured and content-led approach. Strong use of real project imagery showcases Clarkson Alliance’s work and reinforces credibility, while typography is clear and confident, supporting a professional tone throughout.

Colour is used not just for aesthetics but as a functional navigation tool, helping users quickly identify and move between service areas. Layouts are carefully considered to balance content and visuals, ensuring the site feels informative without becoming overwhelming. The result is an experience that is both intuitive and engaging, guiding users through services, sectors and case studies with clarity.

Development

The site is built on WordPress using a custom theme and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), providing a flexible and scalable foundation tailored specifically to Clarkson Alliance’s needs. Moving away from a page builder removed previous limitations, allowing for a leaner, faster and more performant website built with SEO best practices at its core.

This approach not only improves load times and technical performance but also gives the Clarkson Alliance team greater control over content, enabling them to expand and evolve the site as the business grows.

Photography

As part of the project, we also organised and directed a professional photoshoot, ensuring Clarkson Alliance had a library of high-quality, authentic imagery to support the new brand and website. This was a key step in moving away from the generic stock imagery used previously, which often lacks personality and fails to reflect the true nature of a business.

By capturing real people, real environments and genuine moments, we were able to give the company a clear human presence, helping to build trust and credibility with users. The photography not only enhances the overall visual quality of the site but also reinforces Clarkson Alliance’s professionalism and approachability, creating a more engaging and relatable experience for visitors.
